Year 3 spent the day discovering what life was like for a child in the Stone Age and took part in a variety of workshops to help us really understand how different life was. We learnt the art of chalk carving using flint, made clay foraging pots and then got our hands really dirty crushing clunch (a traditional building material of chalky limestone rock) mixing it with water, grass and hay to form part of a round house wall. This is known as clunching! Finally, we took part in an archaeological dig and unearthed bones, stones and metal which we examined in order to help us learn about Iron Age. A great day was had by all!
