Y4 had interesting day exploring Egyptian artefacts and practising their mummification skills at the Brighton Museum last week. Details and photos here.

On Wednesday 3rd October, Year Four visited Brighton Museum to find out more about the Egyptians!

We started our day with a mummification workshop in which the children were excellent at recalling all the amazing facts that they have already learnt. We had to carry out all of the steps of the mummification process including hooking out the brains through the nose and removing internal organs! Grace and Jeremy made brilliant Egyptian priests as they cast spells over the wrapped bodies before placing them into the coffins.

After lunch we then had the chance to explore some of the fantastic Egyptian artefacts in the museum. We enjoyed comparing their jewellery to the sort we would wear nowadays and did some great drawings of the different pottery and masks.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day!
