Thank you to Bettina from the charity “Living Streets” for popping in to assembly this week. She told us about a project to get everyone walking to school as often as they can! More details and photos here.

Bettina, from ‘Living Streets’, spoke to the children about how we can get children walking to school more, even if this means “park and stride” where we park the car away from the school, and walk the last bit of the journey.

We will be launching this project early in 2019!

Here is a quote from their website:

“WE HAVE A BIG AMBITION: EVERY CHILD THAT CAN, WALKS TO SCHOOL

A generation ago, 70% of us walked to school – now it’s less than half.

We want to reverse this decline. We want children to be energised and empowered, and to make walking to school their natural choice.

And we know just how to do it.”
