Our School Council were treated like VIPs yesterday as they were shown round the amazing facilities at the brand new Walberton Place Care Home. Alongside meeting some of the residents, the children got to see all around the Home, including a swift visit to the “in house” pub!
The School Council also found out about all the ways the residents will be looked after, including those who might be suffering from dementia. They also got to vote on the name of the magnificent deer outside the entrance to the Home (“Walbie” is now his name) and contributed their own personal writing and photos to the time capsule which was buried in the grounds of the home (and will be opened in 10 years!).
Many thanks to Peter and Cheryl for making us feel so welcome with your wonderful hospitality!
