It’s ‘Plastic Free Week’ here at school! On top of that, our EcoWarrior team achieved their BRONZE AWARD in a special Eco-Assembly this morning! More details and photos by clicking here.

Ms. Porter, who helps our EcoWarrior team, came into assembly this morning to present the EcoWarrior team with their fantastic BRONZE AWARD for all that they have done (so far!) to promote eco-awareness and general care for our environment. Many congratulations to our Eco-Warrior team and Mrs. Rennie and Ms Porter!

Ms. Porter also spoke to us in a special Eco-Assembly to remind the children about some of the things we can do to help and care for our environment. Here is one way to remember one of the messages from the assembly:

P  – Plastic Pledge to try to use less plastic

L – Litter picks stop river and sea plastic pollution

A – Ask about recycling; Recycle plastic pots, tubs and trays

S – Single Use Plastics – Stop! Do I Need It?

T – Take a bag to the shops

I – Investigate alternatives to plastic products

C – Charities / Collecting crisp packets and milk carton tops

F – Find a refill facility

R – Reuse plastics

E – Enjoy looking after the Environment – be an Eco Warrior!

E – Everyone can make a difference!

Ms. Porter also told the children about a competition to design a poster to say…

No!….Refuse!….Single Use Plastics!

We look forward to seeing the poster entries as there are some great (non-plastic) prizes!
