Year 1 ‘Six Weeks In’ Workshop
On Thursday the 17th October, the children in Orange class invited their adults from home to come into school and spend time working with them in the classroom. The children took on a teaching role and worked with their adults showing them what they have been learning about this term and talking about what it is like being in Year 1.
It was a fantastic session and great to see all the children being able to clearly talk about their learning across a range of subjects. The parents seemed to really enjoy getting an insight into what their children do on a typical day at school.
Here is some of the feedback from the workshop:
“It has given us ideas for things to try at home and helps us to have an idea of the level of skill they have – all really impressive.”
“It was a nice opportunity to meet the teaching staff within the classroom environment and see the positive atmosphere within the class”.
“Being led by my child to different areas and being told by her what to do! She has come on leaps and bounds.”
“Seeing the activities in use and being surprised at the level of learning going on!”
