We are working hard to provide remote learning for all our children.
Reception (Early Years) and Year One (Key Stage 1)
Please refer to Purple Mash (a familiar platform from the previous lockdown) and Google Classroom for remote learning (we are migrating over from February onwards) and any communications from your teachers.
The curriculum we will cover through remote learning will be more practical-based, just as it would be in school. Our curriculum for Reception and Year 1 is carefully balanced between practical activities, exploration through enquiry and questioning and recorded work. We do not believe learning to be effective by sitting at a screen all day! Purple Mash and Google classroom will be used as a ‘tool’ for you to receive work set and for us to see ongoing evidence and photos of your child’s learning.
Year Two (Key Stage 1)
Please refer to Purple Mash and Google Classroom for remote learning and any communications from your teachers. A weekly overview will be set via the ‘Stream’ and ‘Classwork’ areas of the platform and work will be uploaded for your child to complete.
Where work and evidence of your child’s ongoing learning is submitted, feedback from your child’s teacher will be given. We value everything your child can do!
Year Three, Year Four, Year Five, Year 6 (Key Stage 2)
Please refer to Google Classroom for remote learning, lessons, live ‘meets’ and any communications from your teachers. The children in KS2 are very familiar with this learning platform as it was used regularly in classwork and for homework set in the Autumn Term.
Where work is completed and submitted, your child’s teacher will provide regular feedback and there will sometimes be a response task that requires the children to go back to edit/ amend their work and re-submit this.
Please click on any of the documents attached which include ‘Google Classroom Guides’ and more information and advice for home learning.
Take some time with your child to go through the guides so you both have an understanding of what is expected and how to use the online learning platforms.
If you are having any technical issues accessing home learning please email the school office with your child’s name and class and we will contact you as soon as possible.
Thanks for your patience, keep safe and do refer to our school website for updates.
