Walberton and Binsted CE Primary School is a controlled primary school and as such has foundation members of the governing body who are chosen by the Chichester Diocese.

SDSCF6060t. Mary’s Church

As a Church of England school we work closely with St Mary’s ChDSCF1574urch in our local parish, holding services there every term and participating in some of the special festivals during the Church year.  Our Reverend, Tim Ward, also regularly visits our school and leads collective worship.

St Mary’s Church has 11th-century origins which are now mostly hidden behind extensive resoration work undertaken since the 18th century.  Some Saxon-era fragments still remain, and reused Roman building materials can even be seen in the walls.

Here is the beautiful Lych Gatechurch - gate entrance
entrance to the church of St Mary
the Virgin. The children respect
the quiet of the church and its
grounds on entry through
this gate…
